Residency 2: Residential Treatment Center (teens) ( 1 hour )

Shadowing: Shakun Maheshwari teaching artist, COMPAS

I went to the Residential Treatment Center to set up a schedule for the residency. It was good to get to know the environment before and to meet people before I start working there. Now, I also know my schedule so I am ready to work next from next month. I am excited about it.

I am currently working on making books for the exhibition for my coming exhibition in March. The process is slower than I expected. The painting pages, making accordion and constructing the size and shape of the book are making me think about my practice of painting from different perspectives. I was wondering how the panting and sculptures both of the things that I am most interested in could come together and books seem to be a good fit for both for now. I am enjoying making books. It is working as a meditation for me.

I went out to Minnehaha Falls this week to do some photography and to admire the beauty of falls in winter. This was my first time to see Minnehaha Falls in winter. It was mesmerizing. It was good to go out in the fresh air from the daily routine.
