Jamie Kubat

Jamie Kubat is a Minneapolis based artist pursuing their BFA in Fine Arts Studio (concentration in PrintPaperBook), with minors in both Art History and as a Teaching Artist. Their books, printmaking, and sculpture centers the narrative potential and materiality of handmade paper, fiber, and found or gathered resources from nature to create beauty and connect viewers to stories of love, loss, disruption, and healing told through a queer lens.

Jamie’s goal as an educator is to foster a supportive and nonjudgmental space for people to be creative without having to ask the question why. They believe in affording people the safety to explore and be messy as a natural part of the process of gaining experience.

After MCAD Jamie plans to expand their studio and teaching practices through residencies and workshops, and eventually pursue a master’s degree.
