Maria Robinson

Maria Robinson was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota and currently is a Senior at Minneapolis College of Art and Design. She is pursuing her BFA in Drawing and Painting and minoring as a Teaching Artist. She strongly believes in educating through the arts as her paintings function as a tool to help people learn about history and bring awareness to the African American and Latino community.

Maria has worked at the Walker Art Center as a teen council member which consisted of working with other teens to help create spaces in which the youth of the Twin Cities could gather and be social while being creative. She has also assisted local artist, Leslie Barlow in an art workshop at the Metro Deaf school in St. Paul for children. She is very passionate about bringing the knowledge she has learned to class rooms to help children create art.
