Perpich Center for Arts Education - 4.5 hours
This was my first week in the classroom at Perpich Center for Arts Education. I started by introducing myself to the class and talking a little about the teaching artist minor. Then the students went around and introduced themselves to me. After that Lauren started the class by allowing someone to ask a question. The question could have been anything, it is just something that Lauren does to get the class more comfortable with each other. It is something I really enjoy as it starts the class in a very casual and open way. The class then did a quick critique on the students photograms, and I recommended some processes and artist for the students to look at. One of the students was even interested in chemigrams. After the critque the students were split into groups. One being the group that needed help loading film and operating a camera, and the other being people working on their pinhole projects. I took the time to rotate between the groups and get to learn the names and faces of the students better. I’m excited to be working with all of the students!
