Hunter Bartlett is a Minneapolis based artist, and current sophomore at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design where she is pursuing her BFA in illustration. Her practice spans across many subjects, with a focus in comics and illustration. She is passionate about accessibility and inclusivity in arts and education, and includes this across the broader themes of her work. From 2018-2019 Hunter attended the Eastern Iowa Arts Academy, and was a co-president in her high schools’ art club. In 2019, Hunter won a scholastic award, placing best in state for her grade level. Driven by a lack of access to the arts because of economic status, Hunter seeks to aid in increasing the accessibility of art, be it in the form of community arts programs or inclusive art subjects. Hunter is most interested in working with elementary to middle school aged students, as they believe this is when they are most open to new art forms and mindsets. Her goal is to create a non-judgemental and accepting space for all students to be able to create.
