Colleen McLaren graduated from Minneapolis College of Art and Design with BFA in Graphic Design in 2015. She spent two years working at a residential summer camp for girl scouts ages eight to seventeen. She worked as both a counselor, living with a group of twelve to twenty-four girls and as the primary arts and crafts specialist. Her duties including creating age appropriate, themed and engaging crafts for the entire camp. She was also responsible for the craft building and all supplies within as well as budgeting for new supplies. In 2014 she led a group of girls in a weeklong project to repaint a mural on camp that would remain for the coming years. Colleen believes that art should be accessible to everyone, regardless of age, gender and socioeconomic status and wants to work to make that a reality.
