Calvin Hafermann

Calvin Hafermann is a sophomore at Minneapolis College of Art and Design, working towards a BFA degree in Fine Arts Studio, concentration in Sculpture.  From Fall of 2015 to Summer of 2016 he was an Education Intern at Highpoint Center for Printmaking, and the Teen Programs intern within the Walker Art Centers Education Department.  At Highpoint he worked with the education staff to teach visiting students of all ages a variety of printmaking processes, including relief, mono and screen printing, often with an emphasis on Highpoints commitment to ecology and local nature preservation.

At the Walker, he assisted both the Teen Programs Coordinator and the Teen Arts Council (WACTAC) on projects including a 20 years of WACTAC alumni art show, youth oriented programming at the Walker and numerous outreach events at schools and career fairs.  He sees art and creativity as an integral part of an engaged community; it is a tool that can foster change and growth within personal, collective, social and ecological spheres.
